Obituary for Alice Marie Schmidt
Alice Marie Schmidt, age 90, of 2200 S. M-18, Beaverton, MI, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at the Nottingham Nursing Home in Midland, MI. She was born Alice Marie Raymond on December 9, 1920 in Flint, MI, to Shirley and Harriet (Dennings) Raymond.
She graduated from Gladwin High School in 1939. On January 7, 1945 she married Bruno Schmidt at the Skeels Baptist Church. They were married until his death in 1996. Alice was a home maker and worked briefly in factories in Saginaw and Chicago during World War Two and was a secretary for the Superintendent of Gladwin High School. She enjoyed gardening and working on arts & crafts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers; Laverne Raymond, Carl Raymond, Donald Raymond, Wilber Raymond, Howard Raymond, and Sister Naomi Beire.
She is survived by her sons; Ronald (Jacqueline) Schmidt of Midland, MI; David Schmidt of Gillette, Wyoming, James Schmidt of Gladwin, MI and daughter; Patricia (Rick) Krall of Gregory, MI. Brother Russell Raymond of Midland, MI. 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Sisson Funeral Home with Max Schindler officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 from 2-8 P.M. at the funeral home and again on Wednesday from Noon until the time of services. Interment will be in Ridge Cemetery.
