Mrs. Shaffer 89 passed away Thursday October 11, 2012 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center Midland following a brief illness. She was born in Alliance, Ohio on November 28, 1922 to the late Hermay & Florence (Greneisen) Weiler. She married Kenneth Shaffer on June 16, 1949 in Alliance, Ohio. He preceded her in death on September 30, 1997. Arlene was a Registered Nurse and was retired from Mid-Michigan Medical Center –Gladwin and was an active member of the Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars Clover 84.
She is survived by her children William & Patricia Shaffer of Nashville, TN, Karen & Paul Schutte of Pigeon and Roberta Shaffer of Borbonnase, IL; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; a brother-in-law Charles Edeburn of CA. She was predeceased by her sister Lucile Edeburn.
Funeral services will be held Saturday October 13, 2012 at 1 pm at the Sisson Funeral Home with Pastor Timothy Loehrke presiding with burial in Fairmount Memorial Park in Alliance, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 am until time of services.
