Bernadine P. Zitka 72 passed away on May 6, 2012 at the Mid Michigan Medical Center in Midland following a brief illness. She was born on February 19, 1940 in Hamtramck, Michigan to Edmond and Bernice Muyzk. She was a retired teacher and was a substitute teacher for many years in the Gladwin, West Branch and Beaverton School districts. She was an active member of the Historical Society, Arts Council in Gladwin and performed in various singing groups. She was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Sugar Springs Players. She loved to travel with Mort and they have traveled to all the continents of the world.
She is survived by her loving companion of 41 years Morton Stein. Services will be held Wednesday May 9, 2012, 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery Holly, Michigan.
