Obituary for Bertha Mae Garvie
Bertha Mae Garvie, age 88, a lifelong resident of Beaverton, passed away peacefully at her home with her family on Wednesday, September 26, 2018. She was born on December 17, 1929 in Newago, the daughter of Archie and Belva Cornell. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Kory and the late Charles Garvie. Dear mother of Andrew (Rhonda) Kory, Allen (Pam) Kory, Rose Garvie, Bridget (Paul) Kile, John Garvie, Charles (Stacey) Garvie and the late Susan Elali and Tom (Debbie) Garvie. Also surviving are many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and siblings Nettie, Margarette, Harold, Herbert and Archie. Mrs. Garvie was the founder and owner of Beaverton Transit which is now known as Elmer’s Concrete. She was listed in the Who’s Who of American Women and a proud member of the Beaverton VFW.
