CADILLAC – Bonnie May Ferris, age 80, of Cadillac passed away at Autumnwood of McBain, with her loving family by her side on April 21, 2018.
Bonnie was born to Claude and Beulah (Vanderhoof) Powell on February 3, 1938, in Tustin. She attended Tustin Schools. She married Paul C. Ferris on November 14, 1954. Bonnie worked at Cadillac Girl Coat from 1960-1965, later working in the deli at Carters Grocery Store for many years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her great joy. Bonnie loved reading, crossword puzzles and hunting in her earlier years. Bagging her first buck after seventeen years. She also enjoyed many special family gatherings with her siblings.
She is survived by a daughter Susan (Rick) Littlejohn, a son Paul (Amanda DeBoise) Ferris Jr., grandchildren, Mark (Kari) Kraatz, Robert (Shelley) Kraatz, Lucas (Anamaye) Kraatz, Brittany (Terry) Phelps, Haleigh Ferris, Emily Kadwell. Great grandchildren, Jordan, Noah, Memphis, Elizabeth, Katie and Dane Kraatz, Kaiden, Karson, Karter, Korbin and Kayleb Phelps and Leeland Letts. Her surviving brothers are Gary (Diane) Powell, Rodger (Pam) Powell, Nancy Sims, June (George) Boyd and sisters-in-law, Bonnie Powell, Carol (Ron) June, Patricia (Gary) Stephenson and Karen Ferris. Brothers-in-law, Dave Ferris, Dan (Dianne) Ferris and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her husband, parents, brothers Jack Powell and Ronnie Powell. Brother in-law Alden Sims, sister in-law Luella Powell.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to long time friends Carlton and Shelby Plyler.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
