Mr. Clayton 78 passed away Sunday March 31, 2013 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center-Midland following a brief illness. He was born in West Branch, Michigan on October 10, 1934 to the late Carl N. & Bernice (Stillwagon) Clayton. He married the former Shirley Ann Porter on September 22, 1956 in Grout Twp. Michigan. She survives him. He worked for the Rice Furniture for 27 years and then Arden Shell Trucking until his retirement. He attended the Gladwin Free Methodist Church and enjoyed ice fishing & camping at Mancelona with his family.
Surviving besides his wife of 56 years are their children Judy & Jim Orvis, Sandy & Mike O’Hare, Yvonne & Burt Stinson, Gordon Wm& Sharon Homak Clayton, Sharon & Phillip Councell, Michael N. Clayton, Carla & Charlie Claus, Vicki & Dan Dietlein and Brian Daniella Clayton; 29 grandchildren; 32 great grand children; a sister Mildred & David Jones. He was preceded in death by a son Scott Clayton, 4 grand sons and a sister Elaine.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 3, 2013 at 1 pm from the Sisson Funeral Home with Pastor Phillip Hortop presiding with burial in Grout Twp. Cemetery. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 am until time of services.
