Mrs. Murphy 78 passed away Sunday March 15, 2015 at Tender Care of Clare following a brief illness. She was born January 18, 1937 in Manton, Michigan to the late Clinton & Opal (Hafer) Loney. She worked for many years at Beaverton IGA and Beaverton Pharmacy. She enjoyed going to bingos, crocheting, bird watching, working in her rose garden and loved listening to and watching Elvis.
She married Gerald Smith in 1953, he preceded her in death in 1975 and then married Donald Murphy in 1977 and he preceded her in death in 2013. She is survived by her children Carol & Randy Murphy, Shirley Smith, Gerry & Barb Smith, Cindy & Ron Balcer, Penny & Jerry Talbert, Rusty & Kim Murphy and Marty & Linda Murphy; 22 grandchildren, many great great grandchildren and 2 brothers Eldon Loney and Dwayne Loney.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday at 3 pm from the Sisson Funeral Home with Mrs. JoAnne Clagg presiding with inurnment in Millington Cemetery, Millington, Michigan. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 11 am until time of services. Those considering an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Alzheimer Association.
