Mrs. Wheeler 86 passed away Monday June 1, 2015 at her son’s home following a lingering illness. She was born in Gladwin on February 22, 1929 to the late George & Hazel (Wirck) Steele. She married Franklin Wheeler and he preceded her in death on August 14, 2003. She enjoyed baking, knitting and crocheting. She was a member of the Elk Lake Sewing Club and was active in the club's breakfasts at the Elk Lake Fire Station.
She is survived by her son Leon & Vona Wheeler; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 4 sisters: Thelma Sutherland, Pauline Soborne, Eleanor Cronkright and Phyllis Kramer. She was preceded in death by a sister Betty.
In honoring her wishes cremation will take place with inurnment in McClure Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Sisson Funeral Home.
