Obituary for Catherine R. Skocelas
Catherine R. Skocelas, age 71, of Gladwin, MI, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born June 24, 1939 in Detroit, MI, to the late Joseph and Charlotte (Gauthier) O’Hagan.
Catherine was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mid-Michigan Hospital Auxiliary and the Gladwin Women’s Professional Club.  She loved spending time with her family, friends and playing bingo.
Catherine was very thankful and amazed for the generosity and support from her friends over the past years and was very proud to be a part of small town Gladwin.
She is survived by her husband Jerome Skocelas of Gladwin, MI; 5 daughters, Lori (Jeff) Wagoner of Plymouth, MI; Lynn Skocelas of Gladwin, MI; Lisa Skocelas of Rochester, MI; Lorna “Prunie” Skocelas of Westland, MI and Lynda (Rodney Johnson) Skocelas of Westland, MI.  5 grandchildren; Martin Skocelas; Sienna Skocelas; Vanesa Skocelas-Johnson; Amanda Wagoner and Justin Wagoner.  2 brothers, Hugh (Patricia) O’Hagan of Manistee, MI and Ronald (Joyce) O’Hagan of Manistee, MI.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. John Cotter officiating.  Visitation will be held on Friday, July 2, 2010 from 4-9 P.M. at the Sisson Funeral Home and again on Saturday at church from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services.  A scripture service will be held on Friday at 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
For those wishing to remember Catherine in a special way, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Mid-Michigan Hospital Auxiliary, Gladwin Women’s Professional Club or to the Riley Miller’s Cancer fund.
