Mr. Gooch 82 passed away Sunday March 3, 2013 at Mid-Michigan-Gladwin Pines with his family at his side following a brief illness. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 7, 1930 to the late Harrison & Vernice (Hurd) Gooch. He married the former June M. Fotheringhame in Flint on October 19, 1963, she survives him. Cliff served his country in the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army and the U. S. Marines. He was retired from the Genesee County Sheriff Department, a member of the Grand Blanc Masonic Lodge and enjoyed woodworking, hunting, skeet shooting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years and their children David & Jan Clark, Shelia Ens, Kim & Chris Cundiff, Roberta Keast, Cindy Holland and Desiree & Mike Morrow; 12 grand children and 5 great grandchildren; a brother Harry & Jenny Gooch; sister Barbara Schmidt. He was predeceased by 2 brothers Arthur and Raymond Gooch and 3 sisters Ruth Stenger, Betty Gooch and Alberta Gooch.
Funeral services will be held Thursday March 7, 2013 at 11 am from Sisson Funeral Home with Pastor John Hayworth presiding. Committal services will be Thursday at 2:30 pm at Flint Memorial Park under auspices of the Genesee County Sheriff Department. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3 to 8 pm and Thursday from 10 am until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Alzheimer’s Association.
