Mrs. Schlese 78 passed away peacefully on Thursday April 10, 2014 at Woodland Hospice House in Mt. Pleasant following a brief illness. She was born in Gladwin on April 4, 1936 to the Floyd & Cora (Cripps) Dunning. She married Alvin Schlese on October 30, 1954 in Saginaw, he preceded in death on November 8, 2005. She was an active and devoted member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Guild. Colleen was a retired school bus driver from the Gladwin School District after 28 years of service. She enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and Pistons and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Darrell & Ruth Ann Schlese of Gladwin and a daughter Karen & Bob Munson of Grant; 5 grandchildren Nicole & Jason Young, Kayla Schlese, Cody & Michelle Schlese, Shawn & Woody Jones and Amber Munson; great-grandchildren Lexi, Carly, Hanna, Kayleah, Jayda and Kaitlynn; a sister Kathleen Jerik. She was preceded in death by a grandson in law Chad Searfoss, brothers Warren, Wayne and Dean Dunning; 2 sisters Donna Southwell and Gwen Smith.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 4 pm from the Our Savior Lutheran Church with Pastor James Krach presiding with burial in Ridge Cemetery. Family will greet friends at the church from 11 am Saturday until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Our Savior Lutheran Ladies Aid Guild.
