Mr. Beierschmitt 82 passed away Thursday October 10, 2013 at Gladwin Nursing & Rehabilitation following a brief illness. He was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on July 29, 1931 to the late George & Dorothy (Reese) Beierschmitt. Don served his country in the U. S. Navy and the National Guard. He married Bobbie Jones on December 5, 1953; she preceded him in death on July 28, 1993. He moved to Gladwin in 1994 to be closer to his family from Lawton, NV. Where he worked at the Colorado Belle casino as a blackjack dealer and in California as a taxi cab driver.
He is survived by a son Donald E.C. & Margie Beierschmitt of Redondo Beach, CA; 2 daughter Cindy & Darrell Cuddie of Gladwin and Karen & John VanCise of Arcadia, CA; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; 2 brothers Bob & Shirley Beierschmitt and George & Ann Beierschmitt. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers Chuck, Howard, Ralph, Henry and Victor Beierschmitt.
A Memorial Service and Military Honors will be held at 3 pm at the Cornerstone Baptist Church with inurnment in Skeel’s Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Sisson Funeral Home.
