Obituary for Donald Whalen
Donald Whalen, 82, of Gladwin, MI, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Gladwin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Gladwin. He was born September 7, 1928 in Detroit, MI, the son of the late Joseph and Lorraine (Lutteke) Whalen.
He served in the Navy aboard the USS Borie during the Korean War. He enjoyed his retirement from Michigan Bell hunting, fishing, and walking the woods with his dogs.
He is survived by his wife of 58 yrs. Dorothy Whalen, daughter Shawn Whalen and her partner Donna Albrecht and son Scott Whalen and wife Kay.
In accordance with Donald’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no public services held at this time. Arrangements were entrusted to the Sisson Funeral Home, Gladwin, MI.
