Mrs. Blank 95 passed away peacefully Tuesday December 21, 2010 at Garden Gate Foster Care Home following a brief illness with her family at her side. She was born in Gladwin on March 21, 1915 to the late Christopher & Leone (VanValkenburg) Hoffman. She married Carl Blank on June 29, 1935 in Gladwin. He preceded her in death on January 7, 1995. She was a lifetime and active member of the Wagarville United Methodist Church and a member of the Gladwin County Historial Society.
She is survived by her children Norma & Bill Foor of Bentley, Sharon & Matt Kramer of Bentley and Ron & Nancy Blank of SC; a daughter in law Helen Blank; grand children Cheryl & Nick Nicholas, Wendy Foody, Beverly & Ray Kaczmarek, Ted & Chris Dingman, Addison & Chad Dingman, Misty & Jeff McGillen and Brian VanHorn, Angela Blank, William Blank, Melissa Winburne and Melanie & Eric Burke; great grand children Jon Nicholas, Brittny Foody, Shannon Kacmarek, Hunter, Sadie & Taz McGillen, Zack Booth and Courtland VanHorn; brother Jean & Jackie Hoffman and a sister Jeannette & Tom Anderson also, several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by a son Frederick Blank, brothers and sister Wilbur, Louis, Lois, and Ruth Wesley.
Funeral services will be held Monday December 27, 2010 at 11 am from Wagarville United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Simon presiding with burial in McClure Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sisson Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 to 9 pm. On Monday Mrs. Blank will lie in state at the church from 10 am until time of services. A Special Thank you to Garden Gate Foster Care Home and Mid-Michigan Visiting Nurses & Hospice for the compassionate care given to Doris and her family.
