Mrs. Anderson 87 passed away peacefully on Thursday February 21, 2013 at Horizon Senior Living Center with her loving daughters by her side following a lingering illness. She was born in Monette Arkansas to the late Dorsey & Farris (Crowell) Bales. She married Douglas Anderson on December 24, 1946 in Muskegon. He preceded her in death on February 26. 1998. Dorothy will be remembered for her support given to her husband as together they built many houses. They were house parents at Youth for Christ Home for delinquent boys, camp managers for Twin Lakes Youth for Christ Youth Camp and counselors for the church youth group. Dorothy was attending Cornerstone Baptist Church. She enjoyed her family, fishing, gardening, canning, her flowers and traveling with her husband.
She is survived by her two daughters Kristine & Terry Countryman and Patricia & Raleigh Connell; 3 step grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday February 25, 2013 at 1 pm from the Christian Life Center, 16765 Hemlock Rd., Spring Lake, Michigan, with Pastors Curtiss McClain and Phillip McClain presiding with burial in Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Muskegon, Michigan. Friends may call at the Sisson Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 7 pm and Monday at the church from Noon until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Mid-Michigan Hospice.
