Mr. Smith 62 passed away unexpectedly on Saturday December 24, 2011 at Memorial Medical Center in Ludington. He was born in Gladwin on April 15, 1949 to the late Manville Charles & Beatrice Mae (Grove) Smith. Doug was retired from Bay City Plating and was an outdoors man enjoying hunting, fishing and riding his bike.
He is survived by his wife the former Vicenta (Vickie) Escamilla, whom he married on April 17, 2004 in Pentwater. His children Carol & Rick Johnson, Douglas Smith Jr & Fiancée Carla Curphy, Holly Smith and Troy Smith; grandchildren Jennifer & Michael Sodlak, Ryan , Chelsea and Amber Rose; great grandchildren Emily Rose, Antonio and one expected in July; two sister Barbara Richmond and Yvonne Miller and his faith dog Susie. He was predeceased by two brother in laws Al Richmond and Tom Miller.
Funeral services will be held Thursday December 29, 2011 at 1 pm from the Sisson Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1 to 8 pm and Thursday from 12 noon until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Wishes of the Family.
