Obituary for Duane E. Gary
Duane E. Gary, age 78, of Gladwin, MI, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at the Mid-Michigan Medical Center-Midland. He was born March 30, 1932 in Gladwin, MI, the son of the late Amos and Helen (Stack) Gary.
Duane married Margaret (Moore) Gary on June 3, 1950 in Wolverine, MI. He worked for the State of Michigan doing road construction, he retired in 1988. He enjoyed traveling and fishing. He was a member of the Christ The King Lutheran Church and the Odd Fellows.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Gary, Robert Gary, LaVerne Gary and Dorald Gary; sisters Donna Gault, Lydabell Wade and Rowena Billsby.
He is survived by his wife Margaret Gary of Gladwin, MI; Children, Frank (Connie) Gary of Grand Rapids, MI; Andy (Christy) Gary of Gladwin, MI; Michael (Heidi) Gary of Gladwin, MI; Bonnie Shaw of Gladwin, MI and Trudy Lyn (Richard) Persky –Gainer of Gladwin, MI. 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Sister Sue Entriken of Davison, MI and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at Christ The King Lutheran Church, 600 S. M-18, Gladwin, MI, with Pastor David Sprang officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 from 2-8 P.M. with an Odd Fellows Memorial Service at 7:00 P.M. at the Sisson Funeral Home, Gladwin, MI, and again on Thursday from 1:30 P.M. until the time of services at church. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Duane to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
