Obituary for Edwin E. Gronau
Edwin E. “Gene” Gronau Sr., age 81, of Gladwin, MI, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at his home. He was born March 12, 1929 in Detroit, MI, the son of the late Walter and Maude (Wiley) Gronau.
He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Temple and a member of the Secord Lake Eagles. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 1985 as a supervisor in Royal Oak, MI. He loved and was loved by his family.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Wilberlee and Walter.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Evelyn Gronau of Gladwin, MI. Children, Bud (Sandy) Gronau of Vassar, MI; Gary (Cindi) Gronau of Flint, MI; Jeff (Donna) Gronau of Gladwin, MI; Glen (Terrie) Gronau of Montrose, MI, Tim (Robin) Gronau of Flushing, MI and Lori (Doug) Rex of Gladwin, MI. 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. 2 Sisters, Laverne & Janice. Brother Charles.
In accordance with Gene’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a private memorial service held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the Sisson Funeral Home, Gladwin, MI.
