Obituary for Elbert A. Hoskinson
Elbert “Al” Hoskinson Gladwin, Michigan Mr. Hoskinson 84 passed away Tuesday February 14, 2012 at Mid-Michigan Gladwin Pines following a brief illness. He was born in Gladwin on August 27, 1927 to the late Charles & Norma (Brown) Hoskinson. He married the former Jean Cox on March 14, 1948 in Gladwin, she survives him. Al retired from Brown Manufacturing, a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in WW II and enjoyed gardening & woodworking. He was a devoted husband father and grandfather that was supported by his Christian faith serving in the Baptist church community. He is survived by his wife of 63 years and their children Karen & David Wierengo, Randall & Linda Hoskinson and Debbie Beaver; 7 grand children Jonathan Wierengo, Christina Barth, David Hoskinson, Adam Hoskinson, Sarah Ingram, Chad Beaver and Matthew Beaver; 10 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son in law Michael Beaver. Funeral services & Military Honors will be held Saturday February 18, 2012 at 2 pm from Sisson Funeral Home with Pastor David Mead presiding with inurnment in McClure Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 8 pm and Saturday from 1 pm until time of service. The family would like to say Thank you to the staff at Mid-Michigan Medical Center – Gladwin and the Gladwin Pines for the care given to Al during his illness.
