Obituary for Eleanor C Wolfe
Eleanor Charlotte Wolfe, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away at the age of 87 in Gladwin on Monday, October 30, 2017 with her children at her side. She was born on April 15, 1930 in East Detroit, Michigan, to William and Charlotte Raese.
Eleanor will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Through her teaching and 50+ years nursing career, she has touched the lives of many, creating lifelong friends and spreading the gift of helping and healing to those around her. She spent many years working as an RN at the Gladwin Hospital, the Director of Nursing at Gladwin Nursing Home (Pratt Lake Road), an Instructor at Mid-Michigan Community College and also with the Gladwin Council on Aging - just to name a few. She also had a love for music that she shared with everyone through singing and piano playing. She was a faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, providing a strong Godly influence to her family through her living example and praying for those she loved dearly. She was the choir director for many, many years, leading others in the importance of worship and God’s word. She was happily married to Stanley Wolfe for 55 years and provided constant love, support, and guidance to her two children, Brian and Karen. She was also the world’s best Nana: an irreplaceable influence in raising her 9 grandchildren.
Eleanor’s legacy lives on through her beloved children, Brian (Kathy) Wolfe and Karen (Roger) Welser; her grandchildren: Kristen (Ian) Galvin, Lauren (Tim) Wolfe, Logan (Jessie) Wolfe, Lyndsey Nickles, and Rebekah, Nolan, Kal, and Cecily Welser, and Autumn Hamilton; and great grandchildren: Cecilia Cuvelier and Hunter Charlotte Wolfe. She also will be missed by her sister, Irene (Bud) Williams, and many other family members and friends. Eleanor was preceded in death by her best friend and husband, Stanley Wolfe, her parents, William and Charlotte Raese, and her brother William Raese.
Visitation will be Friday, November 3rd from 2-8pm at Sisson Funeral Home, Gladwin, MI. Funeral services will be held at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, Gladwin, on Saturday, November 4th, 2017 with visitation at 10am and the service at 11am. A luncheon will be provided.
