Obituary for Elizabeth Burtzloff
Elizabeth Mae (Betty) Burtzloff (nee Gibbs) of Gladwin has joined our Heavenly Father on September 21, 2010 at the age of 83 after a short illness. She was born in Huron County, Michigan on August 11, 1927 to John and Estella (Halleck) Gibbs. She had one sister, Marie, and two brothers, John and Clifford who all predeceased her. Her family moved to Cheboygan during her childhood and she graduated from Cheboygan High School.She married Harold E. Burtzloff on June 5, 1954, and they raised their family in Tawas City, MI. Betty enjoyed keeping a large garden and reaping its harvest, but she also enjoyed the wildlife creatures wreaking havoc on it. She and Harold moved to the Brook at Gladwin in 2007, where Harold passed away in November of that year.Betty is survived by her children Sally (Richard) Klann of Novi, Susan (William) Campbell of Farwell and Harold (Cathy) Burtzloff Jr of West Bloomfield Township; and her three grandchildren Ian Klann of Novi, Christen Burtzloff of Indianapolis, and Danielle Burtzloff of Oak Park. Cremation has taken place according to Betty’s wishes. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 28 at 2:00 pm at the Brook in Gladwin with Pastor Matthew Schultz of Our Savior Lutheran Church officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to Sisson Funeral Home, Gladwin, MI.
