Obituary for Elsie L. Mielke
Elsie L. “Pretzlaff” Mielke, age 96, of Gladwin, MI, passed away on February 8, 2010, at Mid-Michigan Gladwin Pines Nursing Center. She was born June 15, 1913 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Julius and Augusta (Mix) Pretzlaff. Elsie was a member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church in Gladwin. She enjoyed spending time with her family, embroidering, reading, crocheting, bible studies and visiting with people. She was preceded in death by her Husband Julius in 1994 and 2 Brothers Karl and Edward Pretzlaff. She is survived by her children; William (Cheryl) Mielke of Gladwin, MI; Kathleen (Elton) Rountree of Gladwin, MI and Janet (Kurt) Krug of Gladwin, MI. 3 grandchildren, Meredith (Ray) Allison of Gladwin, MI; Matthew (Nicole) Mielke of Freeland, MI and Kelli (Matthew) Lauer of Novi, MI. 2 Step Grandchildren, Jacqueline (Chuck) Melki of Swartz Creek, MI and Julie (Rod) Campbell of Burton, MI. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Our Savior Lutheran Church located at 331 W. Clendening Rd. with Pastor Matthew Schultz officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 from 3-7 P.M. at the Sisson Funeral home and again on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at the church. Interment will be in Arthur Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be made in memory of Elise to the Our Savior Lutheran Ladies Aid or to the American Heart Association.
