Mr. Willis, 83, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland following a brief illness. He was born in Monroe County on March 3, 1934 to the late Walter & Ineda (Ansted) Willis. He married the former Bonnie Grove on June 13, 1953 in Gladwin and she survives him. They have been lifelong residents of Gladwin living on their homestead in Sherman Township. They were faithful members of the Cornerstone Baptist Church and worked as a mechanic, operated heavy equipment and farmed. He enjoyed wood working, painting picture, being in the out of doors, traveling, working in his flowers and hunting & fishing. He loved the companionship of his dogs Karmel, Abby and Pixie.
Surviving besides his wife of 63 years are their children Robert & Sonja Willis, Michael & Kaaren Willis, Bill & Cheryl Willis, Tony & Ann Willis, Randy & Gloria Willis and Melody & Ashley Dare; 23 grandchildren & many great grand children. He was preceded in death by a son Danny Ervin Willis and a brother LeRoy Willis .
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 11 am from Cornerstone Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Bradstreet presiding with burial in Sherman Township Cemetery. Family will be present at the Sisson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3 to 8 pm and on Wednesday at the Cornerstone Baptist Church from 10 am until time of services.
