Mr. Peters 82 passed away peacefully Monday October 29, 2018 at his home. He was born and was raised on the family farm in Hockaday on March 26, 1936 to the late Percy & Cassie Mae (Powley) Peters. He married Edrie G. Brown on August 8, 1959 in Beaverton, she survives him.
Surviving besides his wife 59 years are their children Cindy Starr, Brian Peters and Patrick & Angella Peters; 7 seven grandchildren, 2 step grandsons & great granddaughter, whom loved dearly; brother and sister Wayne Peters and Carolyn & Ross Koontz and sister in law Helen Peters. He was preceded in death by a daughter Lauree Peters, son in law Rick Starr, a sister Luella & Paul Bosworth, a brother Fred Peters and sister in law Beverly Peters. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.
Later in life started working for Gladwin Schools as a maintenance person. Then became Supervisor of Bussing for 20 years. Then drove bus for Harrison Schools for 8 years then retired from the Harrison Schools in 1995.
Frank loved to bowl became league sec. of the Thursday night men’s league for 20 years, at the same time he was Gladwin-Beaverton association sec. from 1971-1991 also. Soon after that became Zone 9 Director for the Michigan State Bowling Assoc. then went on to become President of the State bowling assoc. for one year. Then a year later became Sec.-Tr. And Tournament Director of the State Assoc. for 10 years. After that he was tour director for Michigan State Bowling of the mixed tournament for 7 years. He was a member of the Gladwin-Beaverton Bowling Hall of Fame in 2002. Frank was a life member of the V F W 7303 in Gladwin and currently the Post Commander A member of the Gladwin Eagles 3292. Also enjoyed golfing. He also was a member of the Gladwin Fire Dept. for 13 years.
Funeral services will be held Thursday November 1, 2018 at 11 am from Sisson Funeral Home with Military Honors. Inurnment will be in McClure Cemetery. Family will be present at the funeral home on Thursday from 9 until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Gladwin County Veterans Memorial Wall.
