Mr. Raymond 72 passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Wednesday November 23, 2016 at the Gladwin Pines following a brief illness. He was born in Gladwin on August 7, 1944 to the late DeLvin & Helen (Burns) Raymond. He married the former Judy Taylor on July 20, 1968 at the Gladwin First United Methodist Church, she survives him. Gene was a barber for a few years and then worked for 28 years at Simpson Industries and West Branch Industries until his retirement. He was a member of the Wagerville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his quad. His memory will be cherished by his family especially his grandchildren who were the love of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years their children Matthew Raymond & Michelle Matthew Jewell; grandchildren AJ & (girlfriend Devon) Jewell, Alexis & (boyfriend Austin) Jewell and Brady Jewell and a special great granddaughter Chloe Shaye; a brother William & Phyllis Raymond and a sister Carol & Larry Tohm.
Memorial Service will be held Tuesday November 29, 2016 at 7 pm from Sisson Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Miller presiding with cremation to follow. Family will be present at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2pm until time of services to greet friends and family. Those wishing and expression of sympathy are asked to consider Mid-Michigan Hospice or the Gladwin Pines.
