Obituary for Glenda Doreen Shell
Glenda Shell has taken the hand of Jesus, departing this world to reside in the glory of heaven with her son Steven and her father Glenn Day. She passed from us on March 10th 2010, after a valiant effort against cancer. She was employed by the Gladwin Community School system since 1997, and was faithfully and generously supported by them, throughout her illness. She was a 30 year member of the Gladwin Eagles Aux#3292, where she served on various committees throughout the years for the benefit of her community. She attended the Hockaday Community Church. She leaves behind her mother Fran Day, children, Connie (Kelly) Umphrey of Oklahoma, and son Mike (fiancée Michelle) of New Jersey. 3 grandchildren, Steven and Carrie Umphrey, and Colton Hillier. 2 brothers, Gary (Trudy) Day of Petoskey, and Darrell (Deanna) Day of Gladwin. A niece and nephew, Ashley and Ethan Day. And also her beloved school children. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 12:00 P.M. at the Sisson Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Day officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010 from 4-8 P.M. and again on Friday, March 12, 2010 from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in McClure Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Glenda to the Gladwin Elementary School Playground, Make A Wish Foundation, or the Hockaday Community Church.
