Mrs. McElyea 74 passed away March 20, 2013 at her home with her family at her side following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Madison County, Alabama to the Robert W. & Laura B. (Champion) Adair. She married Robert B. (Bob) McElyea Jr. on July 2, 1961 in Huntsville, Alabama. He preceded her in death on June 18, 2012. Glennis enjoyed interior decorating and especially spending time with her family. She is survived by her son Brian K. (Michele L. Eitner) McElyea of Taylor and a daughter Kanina J. (David W.) Dixon of Harrison; 5 grandchildren Jason K. McElyea, Bradley C. McElyea, Alyssa M. McElyea, Starr M. Dixon and Daniel R. Dixon; 2 great grandchildren Makayla McElyea and Mia McElyea; a sister Carolyn Willis of Gurley Alabama.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday March 24, 2013 at 2 pm from Sisson Funeral Home with Pastor Ronald Callen presiding with burial in Highland Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 3 to 8 pm and Sunday from 1 pm until time of services.
