Dee 81 passed away peacefully Friday June 22, 2012 at her residence following a brief illness. She was born in Flint, Michigan on July 1, 1930 to the late Albert & Katherine (Harrman) Rex. Dee enjoyed her trips to the casino, playing cards and bowling. She was a charter member of the Christ the King Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband Leon Shortt, her children Lynn & Roger Merritt, Teresa & Roy Pulley, Phyllis & Skip Begin, Ron & Cindee Shortt, Jim & Cherilynn Shortt, Marie McMillan and George Wahl; 13 grand children, 27 great grand children and one great great granddaughter; 2 sisters Joan Hunter and Fran Dickerson. She was predeceased by her first husband James Ernest McMillan in 1987, a son James Albert McMillan, a daughter Linda Wahl, a grandson Jason Merritt, 2 sisters Shirley Clayton & Elaine McComb and a brother Don Rex.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 26, 2012 at 11 am from Christ the King Lutheran Church with Pastor David E. Sprang presiding with burial at Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Sisson Funeral Home on Monday from 11 am until 8 pm. On Tuesday Mrs. McMillan-Shortt will lie in state at the church from 10 am until time of services.
