Obituary for Irene Mary (Emmendorfer) Oard
Irene Mary ( Emmendorfer) Oard Gladwin, Michigan Mrs. Oard 84 passed away Saturday Morning at her home following a brief illness. She was born in Maple Grove Twp. on July 30, 1927 to the late Philip & Grace (Irland) Emmendorfer. She married Orville Oard on October 18, 1947 in Saginaw, Michigan. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2000. Irene enjoyed gardening, watching the birds and the butterflies and working on her hand crafts & sewing. Her greatest joy was her family and supporting them in the importance of an education. She is survived by her children Cathryn Loar, Cheryl Oard, William & Darlene Oard, Cynthia & Chuck Simmons, Patricia & Dick Oard-Moore, Pamela & Robert Smith and Barbara & Scott Buckley; 21 grand children & 31 Great Grandchildren; 2 sisters Ilda Vincke and Janet Hemgesberg. She was predeceased by 2 daughters Cherlyn Oard and Carolyn Swanstra; 5 brothers Adam, Lysle, Cletus, Cleo and Harold Emmendorfer. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday February 14, 2012 at 2 pm from Sisson Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Reynolds presiding with inurnment at Sunset Valley Crematory. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 3 to 8 pm and Tuesday from 12 noon until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy may use a charity of choice.
