Obituary for James E. Thurlow
James E. Thurlow, age 84, a resident of Gladwin, passed away Thursday, November 9th at the Gladwin Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. He was born on November 6th, 1933 to Guy and Veda Thurlow in Gladwin Township. Mr. Thurlow was a proud member of the US Army. He was employed for many years as a Fire officer for the State of Michigan Dept of Natural Resources. Following his retirement he worked for Sugar Springs Sporting Clays. He loved Harness Racing and Fishing. He was a Golden Glove Boxer and also boxed while he was in the Army. Mr. Thurlow is survived by his wife Linda, children Guy (Maureen) Thurlow, Julie (Bill) Drumm, Jami (Mark) Feldman, Chris Thurlow, Mike Thurlow, Dick (Donna) Pauley and Suzanne Pauley. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren and siblings Gayle Thurlow, Joyce Fortuna and Connie Brent. He was preceded in death by two brothers Elwood and Ken Thurlow. A memorial visitation and services will be held on Sunday, November 19th after 1pm at the Sage Township Hall, 1831 Pratt Lake Road, Gladwin.
