Mr. Corlew 93 passed away Thursday September 26, 2013 at his home following a lingering illness. He was born in Gladwin on April 21, 1920 to the late Jewel & Ann (Major) Corlew. He married the former Shirley Hager on October 10, 1943 in Flint, Michigan; she preceded him in death on September 13, 2003. He was retired from AC Spark Plug- GM Flint, a member of the Gladwin Free Methodist Church and enjoyed hunting and going to & having rummage sales.
He is survived by his daughter Lela & Charles Combs and son in law Fred Redfield; 6 grand children Tracey Walkley, Fredric & Sue Redfield, John & Cindy Redfield, Shawn & Ernie Morse, Charles J. & Nan Combs and Kelly Combs. He was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Redfield; 6 sisters and 4 brothers.
Funeral services will be held Monday September 30, 2013 at 11 am from the Gladwin Free Methodist Church with Pastor Phillip Hortop presiding with burial in Butman Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sisson Funeral Home on Saturday from 4 to 8pm and Sunday from 1 to 8 pm. On Monday John will lie in state at the church from 10 am until time of services. Those wishing to make an expression of Sympathy are asked to consider the MidMichigan Hospice.
