Obituary for John R. Selewski
John R. Selewski
Beaverton, Michigan

John R. Selewski passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, March 17, 2013.  He is now in the peaceful arms of the Lord and greeting his parents, Ralph and Betty Selewski, his brother James Selewski and his grandparents, Edward and Edith Lewis and Theodore and Edith Selewski who preceded him in death.  John was born on November 9, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan.  After high school he moved to Boulder, Colorado and worked as a machinist.  He later moved back to Gladwin, Michigan to work with his brother as a machinist. He also worked for the Sugar Springs Golf Course.  Since a young child he had a love for animals.  As a hobby he built unique bird houses and could name all the birds that visited his bird feeders and houses.  He also loved dogs and they in turn recognized his love for them.  He donated his time and energy fundraising for the Gladwin Animal Shelter.  His other passions were fishing and golf.  He spent many hours in his boat and enjoyed playing golf with his dad, brother and nephews. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Cathy Selewski (Gladwin, Michigan); his sister and brother-in-law, Paulette and Jeff Blain (Boise, Idaho); his sister-in-law, Eunice Selewski (Jacksonille, Florida); his nephew and wife, Bob and Angela Selewski (Midland, Michigan); his nephew and wife, Richard and Lisa Selewski (Atlanta, Georgia); his niece, Jennifer Williams (Boise, Idaho), his niece and husband, Lindsay and Randy Barnes (Boise, Idaho); his niece, Sarah Blain (San Diego, California) and his nephew Casey Blain (Muscatine, Iowa).  We will all miss our dear brother and uncle.  Donations can be made to the Gladwin Animal Center or the Sugar Springs Memorial Fund in his memory.
