Mr. Miller, 83, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Medilodge-Clare following a lengthy illness. He was born in Warren, Michigan on October 5, 1932 to the late John Harold & Mary (Eddleman) Miller. He married the former Lorraine Middleton on July 3, 1954 in Caro; she survives him. John was a graduate of Michigan State University where he received his Master's Degree in Education. He taught in Jackson, Laingsburg and retired from the Gladwin School District. He served on the Clare-Gladwin Intermediate School Board, a member of the Church of the Nazarene – Gladwin and enjoyed sports, especially baseball and softball.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years and their children Phil & Terry Miller, Paula & Brian Ross and Aaron & Iliana Miller; 5 grandchildren Ryan Miller, Caitlin Miller, Bradley Ross, Jonathon Ross and Valeria Miller and one great grandchild Jacob Miller; 2 sisters Lucille Murphy and Laura Mae VanVye. He was preceded in death by a sister, Winona Galvin.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 18, 2015 at 11 am from Sisson Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Boyce presiding with burial in Highland Cemetery. Family will greet friends at the funeral chapel on Friday from 9:30 am until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Diabetes Foundation or the Church of the Nazarene of Gladwin.
