Mr. Mastny 76 passed away Saturday November 8, 2014 at the University of Michigan Medical Center with his loving family at his side following a courageous battle with leukemia. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Frank & Emma (Gedeon) Mastny on March 28, 1938. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Jon married the former Ann Marie Vana in Cleveland, Ohio on August 21, 1965, she survives him. He was retired from General Motors & EDS as a computer programmer. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he enjoyed working on the cemetery and the church/school grounds. And a member of the Gladwin Knights of Columbus 4 th Degree. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, watching Ohio State and was torn between the Cleveland Browns and the Lions.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years and their children Kathleen & Paul Abe, Jon & Christine Mastny and Vicki Mastny; 5 grandchildren Erica, Emma, Brett, Camryn and Cole; a sister Marilyn Zola.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday November 13, 2014 at 11 am from Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Fr. John Cotter presiding. Family will greet friends at the Sisson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 8 pm. A Vigil and K of C Memorial service will be held Wednesday evening at 7 pm. On Thursday Mr. Mastny will lie in state at the church from 10 am until time of Mass. Committal and Military Honors will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Gladwin K of C or the Sugar Springs Memorial Fund.

Services 11 am Thursday Sacred Heart Church.
