Obituary for Lavern M. "Red" Frayer Jr.
Lavern M. “Red” Frayer Jr, age 81, a longtime resident of Marion passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. He was born on October 28, 1936 in Lansing, the son of Lavern and Julia Frayer. Mr. Frayer was a heavy equipment operator for the state of Michigan for 39 years. He was a life member and current Quartermaster of the Marion post #6015 VFW, a member of the Harrison Moose Lodge and an avid bowler at the Parkview Lane in Cadillac. Mr. Frayer is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years Althea (Ellie), children Kenneth (Lori), Peggy (Mike) DuPont and the late Dixie Lee., grandchildren Pamela McCabe and Tim Green, great grandchildren Maria, Landon and Chrissa. siblings Mildred (Stan) Searless, Lionel Frayer and Marvin (Regina) Frayer and nephew of Fred and Betty Fleischer. Also surviving are many neighbors and friends. Funeral services and military honors under the auspices of the VFW Post #6015 will be conducted on Saturday, July 21st 11am at the Greenwood Cemetery in Marion Conducting the service will be pastor James Mort from the Marion United Methodist Church.
