Mr. Rose 84 passed away Monday October 22, 2012 at Woodward Hills Nursing Center following a brief illness. He was born in West Branch on June 27, 1928 to the late Hiram & Ada Mae (Leonard) Rose. He married the former Elfrieda Schlese in 1953 on June 13th. Leonard was a graduate of Central Michigan University and also received a Master’s degree from Michigan State University. Mr. Rose retired from Chrysler Motor Corp. after 35 years as a Finance Executive. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church for 22 years and the Gladwin Walleye Assoc. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy surviving in the Korean War for four years and a member of the VFW Post # 3775 of West Branch. Len and Elfie wintered in Glendale, AZ, where they were members of Apostles Lutheran Church in Peoria, AZ.

Leonard loved to hunt and fish. He particularly enjoyed trout fishing on his childhood home property in Rose City, MI. He also was an avid golfer and was a member of Sugar Springs Country Club in Gladwin and Arrowhead Country Club in Glendale.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, three sons Kerry Leonard (Diana) of Scottsdale, AZ, Dan H. (Karen) of Bloomfield Hills and Timothy L. (Maureen) of Novi; grandchildren Jessica, Kyle, Matthew, Hannah, Victoria, Ryan and Anthony; sister Lucille Allard of Saginaw; and brother Douglas Rose of Harrison. He was predeceased by two brothers Richard & Willard Rose.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday October 27, 2012 at 11 am at Our Savior Lutheran Church with the Reverend James M. Krach presiding. Burial will be at Ridge Cemetery with military honors. Friends may call at the Sisson Funeral Home in Gladwin on Friday from 3 to 8 pm. On Saturday Mr. Rose will lie in state at the church from 10 am until time of services. Memorials may be sent to Our Savior Lutheran Church.
