Obituary for Leslie Leroy Moore
Leslie LeRoy Moore, age 58, passed away at his home in Beaverton surrounded by his family on Tuesday September 26th, 2017.
Leslie was born on March 16, 1960 to Clarence and Beverly (Briggs) Moore in Beaverton, MI. He attended Beaverton Rural Schools and graduated in 1978.
After High school, Leslie joined the US Navy. He graduated Naval Nuclear Power School, was a Machinist Mate class “A”, was awarded the Good Conduct medal, Sea Service Deployment ribbon and Navy Expeditionary medal and was honorably discharged July of 1984.
On December 18th, 1979, Leslie married Rosina Margurite LaMontain. Together they had 3 children and later took guardianship of Rose’s niece, Jolyn.
Leslie worked at Dow Chemical as an operator from 1998 until medical retirement in 2017.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rose and four children: Rodger James Moore, Kathleen Marie (Moore) Blaine of Beaverton, and Brian Allen Moore of Chandler, AZ., and Jolyn Marie LaMontain (Kevin) of Wayne, MI. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Desi Moore, Dakota Blaine, David Moore and Luca Bolton all of Beaverton and Destiny Price and Landon Pegram of Wayne. In addition, Les is survived by his mother, Beverly Moore, sisters Sonja (Robert) McCartney, Shelly (Gregory) Barto, Rebecca Moore and April Moore, brothers Daniel Moore, Joseph Moore and Gerald Moore and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by father Rev. Clarence Moore and brother Anthony Moore.
Leslie loved his family – immediate and extended – and took every opportunity to spend time with us all. Les was also an avid “Mobster” player.
His family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their excellent care. And all Les’ many friends and his community for everything they helped with during his illness.
There will be a “potluck” celebration of Les’ life at the Beaverton Baptist Church 2888 Dale Rd. Beaverton, MI. on Saturday October 21st at 1:00 pm.
