Mrs. Fischer 86 passed away Thursday July 4, 2018 at MidMichigan Medical Center, Midland following a brief illness. She was born in Detroit on August 17, 1931 to the late Adolph & Phebe (Adlrich) Ewald. She married Leonard L. Fischer on March 25, 1948 in Gladwin, he survives her. Lila attended Oak Grove Oak Church. She was a self-taught artist, a girl scout leader for many years, enjoyed knitting especially baby clothes and won a Blue Ribbon for crocheting at the Gladwin County Fair.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years and their daughters Mary Davis, Alice & Clay Buck and Beth & Joe Herrmann; a daughter in law Beth Fischer; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a brother Chuck & Kay Balyeat. She was preceded in death by a son Arthur Fischer, a granddaughter Michelle and her siblings Eugene Ewald, Ella Kollak, Ira Ewald, Myron Ewald, Albert Ewald, Dorothy Roosa, Geneva Kamen and Phebe Balyeat.
Funeral services will be held Saturday July 7, 2018 at 11 am from Sisson Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Klassen presiding with burial in Butman Township Cemetery. Family will be present at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 8 pm and Saturday 10 am until time of services.
