Gladwin, Michigan

Mr. Emrick 86 passed away Saturday December 15, 2012 at his home following a brief illness. He was born in Gladwin on August 19, 1926 to the late Harvey T. & Ethel N. (Fries) Emrick and was a lifelong resident of the area. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He married the former Betty Jay on June 27, 1948 in Gladwin and she preceded him in death on July 3, 1995. He married the former Ethal (Thomas) Sharp on April 12, 1977, she survives him. Lyle was the owner & operator of Lyles Flowers & Gifts of Gladwin for 42 years and a member of the Gladwin Assembly of God Church.

Surviving besides his wife Ethal, is a daughter Diane & David Springer of Dimondale, 2 grand children Jennifer Gipson and Chris Springer; 3 great grandchildren;
5 step children Dorothy & John Foor, June & Jim Donahue, Phyllis & Russell Allen and Linda & Chuck Newman all of Gladwin , Tom & Janet Sharp of Haslett; 12 step grandchildren; 30 step great grandchildren and 9 step great great grandchildren; a brother Warren & Sue Emrick Lansing and a sister Elaine Lambert of Yuma, AZ. He was preceded in death by a sister Ruth Lattimore and a brother Clifford Emrick.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 18, 2012 at 1 pm from the Sisson Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Potter presiding. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery with Military Honors. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 1 to 7 pm and Tuesday from 11 am until time of services. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Advantage Hospice of West Branch, Michigan.
