Mrs. Silkstone, age 95 passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Horizon Senior Living of Gladwin. She was born on September 25, 1919 to the late George & Lois (Dean) Pardon in Ohio. Mabel enjoyed doing crossword puzzle, sewing playing scrabble and attending band concerts but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by two sons Dennis Schur and Richard (Suzie) Schur, a step daughter Alexis (Doug) Henne, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband John Schur in July of 1952, and Alexander Silkstone on June 22, 1997 three sons Timothy Schur, David Schur, and Brian Silkstone, a step daughter Jackie Rooker, a brother Thomas Pardon and one sister Irene Younkin. The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to their niece and her husband Amy (Don) Younkin for the compassionate care given to Mabel, also to Gladwin Horizons and Heartland Hospice of Westbranch.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 11 am from Sisson Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Reynolds presiding with burial in Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, from 2 to 8 pm. Saturday from 10 am until time of service. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the family’s wishes.
