Margaret Ellen Weaver-Noble 101, passed away March 7, 2015 at the Gladwin Brook. Mrs. Noble was born January 23, 1914 to Parker and Ellen (Wilson) Weaver in Sage Township and was the oldest of ten children. She lived most of her life in Gladwin County.



Mrs. Noble worked for several years as a bookkeeper for Flynn Lumber before obtaining her teaching degree. She then taught school for 21 years in Gladwin and Clare Counties, and retired from the Amble Elementary School in 1975, having enriched the lives of many students.



She was married 50 years to Lloyd “Maynard” Noble who came to Gladwin County in 1935 with Oil Well Supply during the oil boom. Margaret served in various volunteer capacities including treasurer of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and tended the church gardens for many years. She was also a Gladwin Elementary Schools volunteer, Hospital Auxiliary volunteer, and served on the Board of Directors of the local chapter of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel. She was a founding member of the Gladwin County Historical Society and served as the Secretary for many years.



She was pre-deceased by her parents, her husband Maynard in 1990; brothers Harold, Gerald, Roland and Chauncey and sisters Lila and Lucy. She is survived by her brother Howard Weaver of Northville, Michigan, sisters Beatrice Caffrey of Gladwin and Elizabeth Sheehan of Murietta, California, sister-in-law Barbara Weaver of Gladwin, many nieces and nephews, and countless cherished friends. According to Mrs. Noble’s wishes, she will be cremated and interred in Highland Cemetery. A celebration of her life will held Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Sisson Funeral Home in Gladwin. Visitation with family at 10 a.m. until time of service.



Those wishing to honor Mrs. Noble’s memory can make donations to the Gladwin Community Schools R.I.F. (Reading Is Fundamental) program or the Gladwin Goodfellows Christmas Baskets. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Gladwin Brook for the compassionate care Margaret received during her residence.
