Obituary for Marie J. Gibbs
Marie J. Gibbs, age 80, of Gladwin, MI, formerly of Tawas, MI, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the Brook in Gladwin, MI. She was born on November 1, 1929 in Huron County, MI the daughter of the late John and Estella (Halleck) Gibbs.
She was a long time resident of Detroit, MI, working for Chrysler and later for General Dynamics. She retired in 1992 and moved to Tawas City to be near her family. She moved to Gladwin in April 2007. Her early career took her to Europe, where she worked in Italy and Turkey for two years. Afterward she toured Europe and the Middle East before coming back to Michigan. She had a great love for travel, both long and shorter trips, and also enjoyed crossword puzzles, hand held electronic games and gadgets.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Burtzloff, of Gladwin, MI; nieces; Susan (William) Campbell of Farwell, MI and Sally (Rick) Klann of Novi, MI. Nephew Hal (Cathy) Burtzloff of West Bloomfield, MI and great-nephew Ian Klann and great-nieces Kristen and Danielle Burtzloff.  In accordance with Marie’s wishes cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at a later date at the Brook in Gladwin. Arrangements were entrusted to the Sisson Funeral Home, Gladwin, MI.
