Obituary for Marilu Ann Neering
Marilu Ann (Nowak) Neering, a long time resident of Gladwin, passed away Monday April 23 at home, following a brief illness. Born in Bay City of Ignace and Mary Nowak, Marilu was the youngest of five children. Her older brothers all deceased were Adolph (Katherine) Nowak, Don (Evelyn) Nowak, Alvin (Wanda) Nowak and Norbert (Dorothy) Nowak. Marilu graduated from Bay City Central School before earning her Bachelor degree in education from Central Michigan University and her Masters in learning disabilities from Saginaw Valley State (College) University. She Married Robert M. Neering on June 23, 1951. She taught in the Bangor Township School System, Visitation Catholic School and retired after many years in the Essexville Hampton School System. Marilu loved golfing, red wine and playing cards. She was active in the Mid Michigan Gladwin Hospital Auxiliary and the Sugar Springs Go-Getters Group. She enjoyed painting, gardening and spending time with her family She is survived by her husband Robert, sons Terry (Amy) Neering and Robert (Sandi) Neering and her daughter Kelli (David) Nicholas, and her grand children Alicia (John) Schaub, Molly Neering, Katie Neering and Alex Nicholas. She was preceded in death by two of her children Charles and Joseph. Visitation will be at Sisson Funeral Home from 5-8 P.M. on Thursday and Mrs Neering will lie in state at church on Friday from 10am until mass.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday April 27, 2012 at 11:00 from Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin followed by internment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Bay City. Those wishing to express sympathy may be made to Sacred Heart Church in Gladwin or Mid Michigan Hospital Auxiliary in Gladwin. Arrangements are entrusted to Sisson Funeral Home in Gladwin.
