Marvin Osborne, “Oz”, 85, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at his home following a lengthy illness. Born in Detroit, Michigan on August 10, 1930 to the late Edwin & Grace (Marvin) Osborne, he was a 1949 graduate of Western High School. He married Helen Ann Kratzke on September 9, 1950. He served as a Rifle Instructor in the U.S. Marines from 1950-1952. At various times, Marv owned two restaurants, a store, a miniature golf course, and income properties; he also drove for Greyhound, was a salesman for Hudson’s and Korvette’s and served as a Detroit Police Officer and a Wayne County Deputy Sheriff. He and his beloved Helen traveled to Jamaica, Cancun, Hawaii, Alaska, Branson, Arizona, Florida, and many other places but loved Michigan the best. He was an expert wood carver, an excellent carpenter, an avid fisherman and hunter, a singer and a chef. Marvin loved spending time with his kids and grandkids, and making everyone laugh. He loved his Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart.
