Obituary for Ned A. Falk
Ned A. Falk
Gladwin, Michigan

Ned A. Falk, 66, of Gladwin, died Thursday, January 1, 2015 at home surrounded by his loved ones following a brief illness.
Ned was born in Saginaw, Michigan on April 7, 1948. He was the son of Blanche and Fred H. Falk. He spent his formative years growing up Saginaw and graduated from Central Michigan University with a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture and Ceramics.
For many years, Ned owned his own construction company, and was affectionately known as the Wizard of Wizard’s Work. He enjoyed being an imaginative maker with a specialty for finish work. He loved a challenge, whether designing and building spiral staircases or creating toys for his grandkids, and considered all of them his art.
In later years, Ned worked side by side with his wife as a property tax assessor, but continued to do woodworking and artwork throughout his life. He took great pride in the home he designed and built for himself and Barb, and with a twinkle in his eye, found any excuse to work outside on his tractor. Nearly above all else, his grandchildren benefited from his playful spirit. At every opportunity, he was on the floor playing with his grandkids, taking them on dune buggy rides, or camping and playing cards. He was also very involved with his church, including providing spiritual guidance to the youth of Unity of the Lakes in West Branch.

To say Ned had a taste for the open road and loved to travel was an understatement that will make anyone who knew him smile. He spent as much time as possible riding his Harley and made epic journeys across the country, often joined by friends and family.
Ned is survived by his wife, Barbara (Galbraith) Falk; daughter, Naomi Falk; son, Joshua Falk; stepsons Keith (Darcie) Johnson, Jeff (Jen) Johnson; stepdaughter, Tammy (Erin) Hanlon; ten amazing grandchildren; sisters Sheila (Dave) King, Pam (Dave) Martin, and Toni Falk (Dan) Turczan; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and innumerable friends. His life, in his own words, was filled with wonder and awe.

Services will be held on Monday, January 5th at Sisson Funeral Home in Gladwin, MI. The family will receive friends at 10 am. Memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 11 am. There will be a luncheon following the service at Church of Christ Fellowship Hall in Gladwin.
