Obituary for Norton Sherman Jr.
Norton Sherman Jr., age 86. a long time resident of Gladwin passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 21st, 2017. He was a proud veteran of the Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict. After leaving the service he became a airplane and Helicopter pilot who also taught Aviation Maintenance to students at Kirkland college. Mr. Sherman and his wife Mary sent Goodie Boxes to overseas military personal for over seven years. He was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Gladwin. He is survived by his wife Mary and sisters in law Margaret, Nina, Shelby and Sandy. He was preceded in death by his parents Norton Sr. and Arline Sherman, two step fathers Leon Botsford and Charles Conner, sisters in law Virginia, Josephine, Dorothy and Lena and a Brother in Law Lloyd. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 24th from 4 PM until 8 PM at Sisson Funeral Home, 135 North Silverleaf, Gladwin. Additional visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 25th from 10 AM until 11 AM, the time of the funeral service at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3089 Pratt Lake Road, Gladwin with pastor Joseph Dorais officiating. Interment services with military honors will take place at Highland Cemetery in Gladwin immediately after the funeral services.
