Paul Pemberton age 71, passed away surrounded by loving family members on Tuesday, January 26, 2016. He was born on November 5, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Walter & Kathleen (Marsack) Pemberton. Paul lived and practiced law in Gladwin County for over 40 years and was sworn in before the U.S. Supreme Court in 1974. He received his MA in History and his Juris Doctorate from University of Detroit. Paul was known for mentoring many youths in his community and working Pro Bono for causes he believed in. He also was a Veteran of the Armed Forces. Paul loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening, skiing, the water, traveling, reading, woodworking and especially spending time with his family and friends. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Norma, son Mark (Amanda), grandchildren; Alisa, Elexia, Adriana, Trenton, and Charlotte, sisters Nan (William) Hayden, Kay Pemberton, Lynn (Robert) Scott, and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11 am from St. Anne Catholic Church in Edenville, Michigan with Rev. Fr. Dan Fox OFMCap presiding. Friends may call at the church from 10 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that you consider making a donation to the Disabled Veterans or American Heart Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Sisson Funeral Home, Gladwin, Michigan.
