Obituary for Rawleigh Vernon Hartwell
Rawleigh Vernon Hartwell (Vern) Age 82, of Beaverton, MI. passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011 at 2:44 p.m. Vern was born November 22, 1928 to parents Nelson Riley and Gertie (Wineinger) Hartwell.  Vern was the oldest of 10 children. Vern enjoyed raccoon hunting, working on and restoring vehicles, watching NASCAR and family reunions.  He spent 2 years serving in the U.S. Army and retired from General Motors after 30 years of service.  He liked being at home and visiting with friends that stopped by for a coffee. Surviving are his children Jim, Mary Ann, Sonny, Penny, Gale, Brian and Steve. Surviving siblings are Janet, Jack and Judy.  Vern is preceded in death by his parents Nelson and Gertie and siblings Lena, Art, Chet, Ron, Sharron and Geraldine. There will be a gathering at Vern¹s house on Saturday, October 8th at 2:00 p.m. to celebrate his life.
