Mr. Smith 76 passed away Thursday December 24, 2015 at his home with his family at his side following a brief illness. He was born in Roscommon County on August 10, 1939 to the late David & Dorothy (Goheen) Smith. He was retired from Flint-Truck & Bus Plant, former Fire Chief of the Nester Fire Department and a member of MTRA. Ray enjoyed working in his barn & yard, hunting and riding his horses.
He is survived by his loving companion & friend Shirley Corlew, his children Sheryl & Jeffrey Colley, Dawn Flansburgh, Cindy Jeffers, Connie Smith & David, Susan & Don Gray, Sandra Corlew and Beverly & Billy Hobbs; 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; his mother Dorothy Smith; 1 brother Jerry & Betty Smith; 3 sisters Carolyn & George Corlew, Rose Smith and Yvonne Corlew. He was preceded in death by his father David Smith, a great grandchild Bristol McEnrue and a son in law Mark Flansburgh.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday December 26, 2015 at 2 pm at the Community of Christ Church 2339 W. M 61 Gladwin, Michigan and arrangements were entrusted to Sisson Funeral Home.
