Richard "Dick" D. SmithGladwin, MichiganMr. Smith 83 passed away Friday February 3, 2012 at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence in Battle Creek following a lingering illness. He was born in Alma, Michigan on November 2, 1928 to the late Stanley C. & Fern C. (Glick) Smith. Dick was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U. S. Navy and was retired from Dow Chemical Company after 34 years of serves. He is survived by 4 sons Norman D. (Gayle) Smith of Battle Creek, MI, William J. Smith of Midland, Robert A. (Pam) Smith of Midland, and Kenneth D. (Sherry) Smith of Midland; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers & sisters Stanley T. (Diana) Smith of Midland, Donna Jean (Ray) Krotzer of Midland, JoAnn (Dick) Snyder-Berryman of Warren, Mi, and Robert (Irene) Smith of Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter Tara Smith. Funeral services and military honors were held privately at Sisson Funeral Home with his niece Rev Bonnie J. Whittier presiding with inurnment at Sunset Valley Crematory.
